Today is Bob's birthday we had a family dinner party last night! We skyped Lindsey & family and had Joe & Emily on the phone! Happy Birthday Bob I love you!
Ok, I know this seems a little unusual, and you have no idea who I am, but my name is Noelle Merrill and I am a volunteer for Deseret Book's TIME OUT FOR WOMEN. Have you heard of this event? If not, check this out: http://deseretbook.com/timeout/event/207
I was searching for anyone in the Lone Mountain Stake and "googled" the Cheyenne Ridge Ward and your blog popped up. I was wondering if you would be interested in volunteering at the event?
We are looking for local women that are EXCITED, COMMITTED and WILLING to help us a little in the next several months.....we need two women from each stake. The volunteers have two main responsibilities:
1) SPREAD THE WORD: Team Members will be trained by TOFW staff on all the details of the event and then will be given many resources to share with the women in your area about the event. Along with all the publicity that TOFW will do, this is one of the best ways for us to make sure that no one is missed! As a THANK YOU for helping to publicize the event, our team members earn a FREE registration for themselves to the event!
2) HELP AT THE EVENT: Team Members have the opportunity to come early to the event and help with things such as being a door greeter, seat usher etc. Team Members don’t miss any of the event and it gives you a chance to be a little on the “inside”.
We need two volunteers from every stake around Henderson and Las Vegas. If you would be interested or could help me find someone in your stake that would be interested, could you please email me at: merrill_noelle at hotmail dot com
Bob and I met during our 7th grade year at Hyde Park Jr High. We had a class together and became friends, by summer time we had a long distance romance that consisted of letter writing. But we never seemed to get it all together. We remained close friends over the next two years. Bob went to Western High School and I went to Clark High School we saw each other a few times at games here and there. Bob was a drummer and everyone knew when he was there. He joined the church his Senior year and left his wild past behind. We met again after high school at a Young Adult BBQ. I wondered what he was doing there as I was not aware he had joined the church. He was not dating anyone nor was I. When we met he asked me out but I was leery. I said I would go if he showed me his baptismal papers. So off we went and sure enough he had the right credentials. After a delivery of two dozen red roses the rest we say was history. I waited for Bob while he served in the Spain Seville Mission. Three months after he returned we were married in the St. George Temple. That's how the family began to grow and grow and grow.
